Description
A wonderful rendition of a maple leaf. The blue-green color that has been applied is wonderful. There appears to be a slight discoloration to the celluloid frame on the right, but otherwise this is an elegant purse. While flowers and foliage are popular on celluloid purses, it is unusual to see a frame devoted to a leaf. However, leaves were popular motifs in Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts design which may have influenced this purse frame. This is another great piece from Australian celluloid purse collectors Mike and Lizzie.
