With the discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb in 1922 by Howard Carter, an interest in all things Egyptian gripped the world. This celluloid purse frame features a representation of Tutankhamen and Isis. In Egyptian mythology, Isis is the goddess of motherhood and fertility. You can see representations of Isis on main tomb paintings including this one from Seti I.
