Description
The discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb happened to coincide with the advent of mass media – newspapers, newsreels and movies. The result was that the 1920s Egyptian Revival had a wide impact on all forms of design. This celluloid frame features a pharaoh and two cat-like sphinxes. This frame has a pit of spot color. Color can add to and detract from the value of a celluloid purse. It all comes down to a matter of taste. Was the color well-done? If the answer is yes, than it may add to the purse’s value. Bad color can easily pull down the value.
